Our commercial and marketing team is based in Brighton, however with the sales team often working remotely and with other group office located in Richmond and Theale we are flexible about where you base yourself and anticipate a degree of home working as well in these times.

 

About the Role

A very exciting opportunity to join the innovation hub of the business to provide pre sales support to all customers interested in cloud platforms, provide thought leadership, architectural blueprints and overall solution design. The role will also be hands on in overseeing the delivery of these projects working with the existing technical team alongside driving the overall platform tooling, orchestration and automation capability, further enhancing the existing cloud platforms and introducing innovative ways of deploying and operating cloud.

 

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have a good broad understanding of cloud platform technologies and will be able to provide technical and thought leadership for complex customer scenarios. Responsibilities include;

 

  • Support on all pre sales and commercial activities for cloud platform solutions, this will include attending meetings, provide technical authority on proposals and aid in the costings.
  • Provide new and existing customers an overall technology,  platform and product steer based on current market offerings and trends. Ability to conduct options appraisals and proof of concepts to validate solution appraisals.
  • Build innovative cloud platform solution designs and blueprints based on the current Cloudhelix capabilities considering the customer application profile as well as the utilisation of public cloud such as AWS and Azure.
  • Assist the project manager in scoping and defining the activities required to underpin proposed solution. Provide technical delivery sponsorship for all cloud platform based projects.
  • Provide technical leadership and assurance to the existing delivery team, oversee and act as an escalation point.
  • Support on all marketing activities including blogs, whitepapers, cloud platform campaigns and overall product messaging
  • Cloudhelix platform ambassador, attending events, hosting and attending webinars and from time to time produce whitepapers/ebooks

 

Technical Requirements:

Essential Experience

  • Public Cloud Technologies (AWS and Azure), VMware, Redshift ( Openstack ), Orchestrations Engines, (Swarm, Kubernetes, Mesos)
  • Version Control such as GitLab/GitHub with ability to build pipelines into Version Control Systems
  • Container Concepts, ( LXD, Docker, rklet ),
  • Automation and Orchestrations Tools ( Jenkins, Octopus, Puppet, Chef, Terraform, CFEngine ) 
  • Container OS variants ( Ubunto Core, Atomic Host, CoreOS, RancherOS).
  • Db Management Tools, NoSQL (Mongo), PostGreSQL/EDB, Windows SQL, AWS RDS
  • Monitoring Tools – Prometheus, Grafana
  • Solid understanding of DevOps CI/CD practices and tools
  • Certification in either VMware, Azure or AWS Cloud

 

Nice to haves

  • Experience with programming Languages, Java, Python & .NET, Bash Scripting (CLI)
